5 Labor Day Fun Ideas for Nashville

5 Labor Day Ideas to Build Your Family Connections

If you don’t find yourself on an elaborate getaway, this Labor Day weekend have no fear.  Here are 5 Labor Ideas to Build your family connections, and deliver fun and memorable long weekend that won’t break the bank:

1. Take a family hike.

My personal favorite? The Percy WarnerMossy Ridge (Red) tail. Hiking with kids? Here’s a list of 6 things you won’t want to leave without storing in your knapsack.

2.Volunteer as a family.

Find volunteer opportunities that the whole family can participate in using a local website like HandsOnNashville.org.

3. Attend a local outdoor event or festival.

Here in Nashville Saturday marks the start of Musician’s Corner in Centennial Park where one of my favorites, Marc Broussard will be playing.  Check your local CVB’s website and see what events they have posted on their event calendar.

4. Make and fly kites.

Don’t worry, there’s several easy to try DIY’s for this one on our Pinterest page: https://www.pinterest.com/familiesconnect/kites/

5. Capture Those Labor Day Family Connections.

Most important, whatever you do this Labor Day, don’t forget your camera. Be sure to capture photos and videos of those unique moments. Challenge your kids to edit the video clips into a video trailer, or put them into a family collage.
